Falvey Commercial Properties and Fortis Group Announce Merger
Two prominent Louisville-area real estate firms are joining forces. Falvey Commercial Properties and Fortis Group have announced the merger of the two firms, effective December 15.
Falvey Commercial Properties was founded in 1993 by John Falvey, a 30 year veteran of Louisville commercial real estate, including a 10 year stint as partner in the Louisville based STM Development Company in the mid-1980's. Falvey's firm is known for property leasing and sales with a long and successful track record in land sales. Falvey also has represented many well-known national and local retail land companies in the Louisville market.
Fortis Group was founded in 2001 by several former executives of Trammell Crow Company, a national real estate services firm based in Dallas, TX. Fortis Group manages and leases over 3.5 million square feet of industrial, office and retail properties in the Louisville area. They also provide development services, tenant representation and site selection services for local and national clients.
The merged companies will have twelve employees; the offices will be consolidated to Fortis Group's office in Meidinger Tower downtown. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
"I can't imagine a better fit than these two firms," said Jon Seiz, President of Fortis Group. We both subscribe to the benefits of the independent, boutique service firm model that can provide a broad range of high-level services while remaining nimble and focused on the local market. Both firms were founded on identical values: excellent service, integrity, and commitment to client satisfaction. We are extremely excited about our future."
Seiz and Falvey will be Principals in the merged firm; Seiz will retain the title of President of the company. Mark Wardlaw, Vice President of Brokerage and Principal Broker for Fortis Group, will remain the Principal Broker of the firm.
Dotty Sparrow, a Falvey sales associate since 1994, will be a part of the merged brokerage team and Sheila Keiser will continue her role as Marketing Associate and add property administration responsibilities.
According to Falvey, "This merger really is a good fit; our businesses are very complementary. Each firm brings unique skills and experience that the other doesn't offer, so the combination creates a more powerful firm that can pursue more business opportunities.
Seiz added, "John is one of the most successful and respected real estate professionals in Louisville; we are honored and excited to join forces with him and his team. We will be able to offer more services to our clients and new doors will open for future business growth."
